Welcome to the Blog
This is a collection of blogs about Martial Arts.
About the Author: 28 years old; started my martial arts journey as a way to learn to deal with childhood bullies. I started in Tae Kwon do but didn't get very far before the school closed. (Yellow with red stripe) . Then in college; after becoming the victim of an assault I took the Self defense courses taught by Robby Robinson. At this time I had the fortune of meeting and befriending Justin Davis. He facilitated my training until he had to move away.
I went back to school in 2010 and became a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Oregon. I currently work at Oregon City Healthcare. A year into my career I missed training and started researching local dojos. On a whim I entered a contest to win 2 free weeks of karate; I won and the rest is history. I met Jerry Keeler in 2011 and started my training in a tournament/self defense style of karate.
I achieved my 1st Degree Black belt (instructor certified ) in September of 2013.
Shortly after the school closed.
Recently I've started training at Shuny Bee TKD and as of posting this I've recently achieved my Orange Belt.
The goal of this website is to collect and chronical my training. As I feel I will never stop training until I'm physically unable to teach or train. I hope to be able to achieve many more black belts.
But the belt is just what keeps up the pants. The training is the important thing.
Hapkido
It’s now 2023 October. I’ve finished xin-Tao karate, and Olympic tae kwon do up to 1st degree black belt.
I recently purchased a hapkido program I’m working through to add a new program to my dojo when/if we reopen.
