XIN-TAO KARATE: The New Way
I've got the first part of the first section of chum kiu learned. Due to a recent back injury I've not been able to work on shifting and thus haven't truly been able to learn the form.
my hope is that I can learn enough of it while I'm healing that once I'm healed I can test for the instructor certification.
should be fun. Just gonna enjoy the knowledge.

In 2016 I purchased an online curriculum that encapsulated the wing chun style. I've memorized the Siu Nim Tao form and have now started to learn the Chum Kiu Form. Once I have this form down I will be able to get instructor certified and move on to the Biu Gee Form.
I plan on learning this form over this summer and hopefully testing for instructor certification by end of August 2018.
I have permission to teach Xin-Tao Karate from Founder Jerry Keeler. And will be launching that program very soon!!!
4/7/17 I've not had the time to transition the students over to xin-tao and in stead have been focused on completing my self defense curriculum and training my students in those levels.
Been reviewing siu lim tao as well as watching the chum Kiu form hopefully going to learn in congruently with Tae kwon do and shotokan forms!!
No real rush as I don't NEED to teach it til after my students get their second degree black belts in self defense; which will be defiantly after I finish my 1 at degree in shotokan and Tae kwon do. (As well as probably finishing the basic Krav Maga program And maybe even the Bo staff training)
Worst case all 1st degrees will have to watch the seminar and we will learn together for their 2nd and 3rd degrees (will need to find the biu Jee form somewhere. . .but thats AFTER siu lim Tao and chum kiu) so plenty of time.
Been watching the David Peterson DVDs on Siu lim Tao and just rediscovering my love for wing chun!!! Can't wait to get my students to black belt so we can start learning this together!!!
Scheduling difficulties suck!!! Trying to get back to Xin-tao and there's no wiggle room!! I'm very frustrated!
I miss training and teaching Xin-tao. I wish I had a few thousand dollars to put towards marketing and get my own location then I could rent space for Xin-tao, and teach self defense, and when I get black belt in Tkd (or find a few other black belts) I could offer those classes!!!
I'm searching for ways to build my own wing Chun dummy to continue my training in wing chun and perhaps even offer new product for income through MPMA. Will keep posted with pictures as I experiment! :)
K-martial arts has found a new home in a gym in Portland.
Due to working friday-Monday as a CNA I haven't been able to fully return to my duties as instructor!
I'm not financially able to take Mondays off work and return to train but hopefully once my self defense programs are able to supplement my income I can afford to take to extra day off! :)
Been practicing Wing Chun Kung Fu as well as reviewing the attacks and defenses for the Xin-Tao karate martial art style.
I'm learning the Wong shun Leung lineage from David Peterson through DVDs and hope to be able to start working with people soon to learn the touch sensitivity and actual applications of techniques!!
Hopefully Brandon Keeler will come back when/if Xin-Tao returns and I can work towards my 2nd Degree black belt!
Xin-Tao or "The New Way" is the creation of Sensei Jerold Keeler. Founded in 1995; the tournament style of Karate focuses on technique based training and mock tournament sparring to teach appropriate application of force in a safe and fun way.
I hold a 1st degree Black belt in Xin-Tao style of Karate.
(I claim no ownership of Xin-Tao karate; ownership resides solely with Jerold Keeler and his Family. I am simply a student who wished to teach and achieved a Black belt)
I have high hope for the return on Xin-Tao and my ability to start working towards a 2nd Degree Black Belt. As of writing this The Xin-Tao style is still alive but K-Martial Arts has closed.
